win tickets to the taste of cape town 2011

tase of cape town 2 years back

I simply love the Taste of Cape Town and have been to every one.  You can read all about last years event here.

Its a wonderful food event which showcases some of Cape Towns fine restaurants and their chefs.  Each restaurant that exhibits presents a few signature dishes as tasting samples which you buy with the Taste of Cape Town currency of Crowns. Its the agony of choice on the night because you want to eat it all. A big highlight for me is the opportunity to meet and sometimes chat to the chefs who are super friendly and milling around.

In addition to the restaurants there is a small producers market where you can sample and buy products and attend cooking demonstrations at the Pick n Pay Fresh Living Chefs Theatre.

There is the Johnnie Walker Whisky Theatre and the Grolsch Beer Academy and a plethora of other wine lables exhibited, so plenty of opportunity to sample and drink. Its advisable to get a taxi home.

Its all about interaction which I love.

I am giving away one double ticket to the event for either the Thursday 5, May or Friday 6, May. Please note that this gets you free access into the venue and does not include crowns or a Taste wine glass.

The event takes place from the 5th May – 8th May at Green Point Cricket Club.

To enter simply leave a comment on this blog post with a reason why you would like (or love) these tickets before the 29th of April.

Read more about this years event on their website.

Hi Sam

Both my husband and I have been chef for the last 5 years, which means that we usually we either not in the country when it happened, or we were one of the people making the food at the show. Everyone says that is must be a great experience, which it is, but all you ever do is WORK! And not walking, but RUNNING!

We are such foodies and love to experience new styles, complexities and flavours. For once we would like to enjoy the festival! So I think we should be given the tickets!

Hope to see you there
Monique

Okay, Sam, I am the most deserving winner.

Reasons:
1. I am unemployed, and moneyless and cannot buy the ticket myself
2. This would be my first time visiting Taste of Cape Town – we all remember our first ;)
3. I recently lost a competition I really thought I’d win based on technicalities (competition spirit is down)
4. I love food (this one doesn’t really count because all entrants have this as a reason)
5. I want to practise my photography on something other than my own food
6. Boyfriend and I need to get out of the house and DO something (if only slightly) resembling a date
7. I’m hungry
8. I commend your boobs on Twittert
