stroopwafel sandwich with strawberries, mascarpone cheese and chocolate

·

This dessert takes the already to-die-for dutch stroopwaffel to a whole new level turning two of these beauties into a decadent sandwich.

It may seem a bit over the top but the strawberries and thick cream somehow balance out the very sweet wafels, and the chocolate adds a new flavour layer.

I couldn’t resist dipping a strawberry in the chocolate too *inserts naughty smiley face here*.

Spread a dollop of Mascarpone cheese over a Stroopwafel, add a layer of sliced fresh strawberries and then sandwich together with a second wafel. Melt chocolate of your choice over a double boiler or in the microwave and drizzle over the top.

These Daelmans proper Dutch Stroopwafels can be found at selected Spars and Giovanni’s
