10 recipes to enjoy in april
April crashed into me like a small plane hits the side of a mountain and I can’t even believe it’s nearly Easter. It’s also nearly Winter so its time to bring on the comfort food, fireside moments and loads of red wine. I can’t wait. April is my favourite month of the year hands down, and I adore autumn colours and light. Here are a few of my favourite recipes for the Month of April if you live in the Southern hemisphere.
With Easter smack in the middle of the month, these are a few of my favourite Easter treats (starting with the sweet ones first of course):
Hot cross buns made with stout
Once you’ve made your own hot cross bun you will only be buying shop ones in an emergency. These are delicious.
Hot cross cinnamon sticky buns
This is where a hot cross bun and a cinnamon sticky bun have a baby. They are mind boggingly awesome. Just do it.
Hot cross bun pudding with chocolate and cinnamon
Here the hot cross bun gets baked into a silky custard spiked with orange flavours and melty chocolate pieces. It’s a no brainer.
Roast leg of lamb with rosemary, garlic, harissa and lemon
The perfect Easter roast with a hit of spice from the Harissa. The lamb gets cooked slowly for 4 hours until it falls off the bone. Check out all the sides that go with it too.
Roast chicken with stout, rosmemary & honey
If you would prefer to roast a bird this Easter instead of lamb – this is the go to.
Roast white wine chicken with herbs and garlic
Or this one which is more casual.

For your big Easter feast or any roast at any time – these are the best roast potatoes to go with that.
Butternut scones with cheese and herbs
One of my all-time favourite savoury scone recipes and perfect to get your baking mojo on like I am right now. Great for the Easter holiday week end.
