cappuccino à la rose

How to make a Cappuccino à la rose

I received my new Nespresso machine last week and its been a while since I was this excited about an appliance. The possibilities are endless and include tea. The recipes are thus endless and for me to have such high quality coffee at the touch of a button, I am thrilled.

This is a recipe I fell in love with on their amazing coffee creations website and its called the Cappuccino à la rose. It has white chocolate and rosewater included – I mean how dreamy. If you want to get really fancy you can crystalise a few rose petals and sprinkle these on top.

I made a little video on how to make it: Continue Reading →

super healthy green smoothie

super healthy green smoothie

The base recipe for this super healthy green smoothie comes from a wonderful organic farm in Israel called Farma Cultura, located on the outskirts of Tel Aviv in the village of Bnei Zion. This little farm is exactly the kind of place you want to have right in your own neighbourhood. They grow an array of incredible organic produce and have a little shop on the property where they sell it along with various prepared dishes which are all freshly made by themselves. We popped in for a short visit while I was on my spectacular food tour to Israel in January and took a tour of the garden. Owner Gil Shacham-Amit and her husband made their green smoothie for us and it was delicious. Continue Reading →

I love this cocktail because it’s not that sweet and is so easy to make. It’s literally a case of banging all the ingredients into a glass and giving them a good muddle and stir. Continue Reading →

melon cocktail with strawberry and basil

melon cocktail with strawberry and basil

This is my rendition of the ‘Basil Melon Daisy’ cocktail from Graciales at Peddlers & Co and its rather delicious. It seems to be a ‘thing’ in drinks recipes to add jam to sweeten them up, and this of course makes total sense to me. It replaces the sugar syrup component in a cocktail adding something better, and in this case its strawberry jam. So you have the strawberry flavour along with all the sweetness you need to just stir though. How convenient? Continue Reading →

cereal milk milkshake with caramel corn and cornflake clusters

cereal milk milkshake with caramel corn and cornflake clusters

Ok so the title is a bit of a tongue twister but I have been wanting to make a cereal milk ice cream since I heard about years ago and tasted the famous Momofuku cereal milk ice cream on my trip to NYC this year. It was a soft serve and despite tasty and crispy corn flake bits on the side, the overall experience underwhelmed me and the flavour was too mild. I’m still planning to make the ice cream, but in the meantime I decided to make this utterly delicious milkshake. Continue Reading →
