This looks amazing! Well done!

Paula at Dishing The Divine May 9, 2011 at 8:31 am

Yes, food porn indeed. In fact, I’m not even hungry and I still went gaga over these pics! now, if only you were here to cook for me this week. I’m short on inspiration and it seems that you could just start at the top of this list and work your way down! :)

Sam May 9, 2011 at 8:33 am

Thanks Paula!

Juanita January 24, 2012 at 9:33 am

Thank you Paula, not only does the food look picture perfect, it’s looks so good you can almost taste it! You are a true artist not only in the food world but you have an amazing talent to capture the rawness of the moment. I am sitting here in a moment of bliss, salivating over food I only dare to conquer in the kitchen one day. You are an inspiration, so thank you for yor passion you give to us on pages.

Sam January 24, 2012 at 11:36 am

Sorry Sam, I meant to say thank you Paula for her words are spot on when commenting on your work. Yes, I wish you were here to cook for me on request.

Hi Sam, your photo’s are exquisite! I’m a big fan of food photography myself and want to know where you started out learning about food photography. Good luck on your book launch, love what I’m seeing so far.

Sam May 23, 2012 at 6:26 pm

Hi Anria, thanks for the kind words. I started out shooting when I started my blog and am pretty much self taught. It has been a case of years of shooting, trial and error, online tutorials, books etc. :-)

Afroeuroforum May 26, 2012 at 12:27 pm

Hi Sam

Very Very impressed with your food pictures, they really bring your food to life. They are exactly the type that i am trying to take with my camera. Can you tell me the specs of the lens you are using?

Regards
M

Sam September 3, 2012 at 3:58 pm

Hi Mukhtar, many thanks for the kind words. I am currently shooting with a 60mm macro lens (Canon).

Hey Sam!

I love food photography and your photographs are absolutely stunning. They remind me of a food photographer by Katie Quinn Davies of What Katie Ate and I’ve been trying to add some depth to some of my food photos when i practice – I was wondering, what is that backdrop you’re using in that very first image on this page with the ice cream? I know it looks rusted and scratched, kind of like an old piece of metal. I’m just curious to see if that was actually maybe like a sheet of metal?

Thank you so much!
Steph
