Sammy, your pictures are fantastic, your website is beautiful. I love the words, the photos, the recipes (which sound delicious and I will try), and the idea; and your commitment to your passion is inspiring.

Sammi, you are a culinary delight! Your seamless effort in creating the most divinely decadent dishes is beyond me….wow, your food, your photo’s, your creativity in the kitchen…not to mention the name drizzle and dip…conjures up everything you do with such incredible finesse and style. Congrats my love xx

I have visited so many sites on the internet in search of new recipes to try, but I have never come across such an awesome website – with simple ingredients made into extraordinarily delicious dishes, with beautiful photographs to match. This site showcases so many of your wonderful talents, Sam – baking, cooking, food styling and photography, and I am so proud of you. Well done! xxxx

Hi Samantha

I had a look through your wonderful photographs and as I work on the Food and Beverage Marketing side at Cape Grace, I’m often involved with photoshoots. Now, as ‘everyone’s a photographer’ you can imagine that each department has their own idea of what the pics should look like – with that in mind, do you perhaps know if there is a course being offered for photo and food styling – or is it something you just have a feeling for? In an environment like ours, where Operations over takes bigger picture thinking, it sometimes helps to have a little ‘ammo’ in order to get the best out the photographer’s time. If you know of such a course or how one best goes about it, I’d love to hear from you,

Many thanks and kindest regards

Brooke April 15, 2012 at 1:57 pm

Sam, so inspiring meeting you at Joss’ party yesterday. I’m very excited to keep up with your blog all the stunning recipes and tips I’ve seen so far. I’m seriously keen on an evening out and chat obsessively about food and wine (and margaritas). Have you ever had the Roquefort dressing at willoughby’s? Any tips or recipe for a good one I can try?

Sam April 15, 2012 at 4:42 pm

Hi Brooke, lovely to meet you too and a foodie catch up / gathering is so on the cards. We should do El Burro because you haven’t been. I don’t know the Willoughby’s Roquefort dressing, I make my own with a nice blue cheese (I love Danish blue or Gorgonzola) and mayo (can thin it down with milk)

Hi Sam,

These photo’s are so good, I’m almost tempted into licking the screen (luckily I share an office). Just want to know, how do you become a food stylist?

Moira September 13, 2012 at 10:38 am

Hi Samantha. Your work and recipes are great. I googled “oat crunchies” recently and went into your blog and “Betty Linsell’s oat crunchies”. The amazing coincidence is that I think my parents were friends of your grandparents! I remember the name Betty and also Grant Linsell? Did they live in Johannesburg perhaps somewhere near Northcliff. I baked the crunchies snd they were delicious.

Sam September 13, 2012 at 10:44 am

Hi Moira, Oh my word yes. My grandparents (Betty and Clifford Linsell) lived in Northcliff in Johannesburg. Who were your yours?. This recipe has been one of the most special on my website and seems to have connected with people the most.

Moira September 13, 2012 at 1:23 pm

Hi Sam. Yes, those were their names. What a coincidence! I’ve sent you an e-mail with more details.

Melanie Chisnall September 23, 2012 at 5:50 pm

What an incredible talent to have, to be able to combine your passion of food together with your love for photography! These photographs are simply breathtaking. The way that the light catches the food or other elements in the background is incredible! :)

Sam September 24, 2012 at 9:25 am

Thank you Melanie for the very kind words :-)
