  1. how civilised. they recently had an elimination round in the australian master chef series where the contestants had to make this. my mom used to make a version with pears. *nom!*

    It is deceptively difficult, I tried a few recipes from well known chefs before I found a good one. I developed this recipe for Moirs for a brochure they did. I have subsequently heard that Elizabeth Davids recipe is brilliant, so that is the one I will be doing next as I absolutely love apple in baked things.
