Last week I was invited to the Roundhouse Rumbullion week end wind down, which sees this well established restaurant launching a new pizza menu and Friday evening entertainment on the magnificent lawns overlooking Camps Bay.
Talk about a restaurant in a beautiful location.
Every Friday through summer they will be serving drinks and pizzas between 4 – 8pm, whilst you listen to a band and watch the sun go down.
Cocktails + spectacular views + sunset over Camps Bay + Pizza = a pretty cool way to start the week end.
It’s very chilled out and last Friday the band ‘Adamu and friends’ played, but the music will vary and could include a DJ.
There is a slight ‘colonial’ edge to the Roundhouse. Maybe its because the building has so much history, its the second oldest in Camps Bay, its a National Monument and a World Heritage site. Or maybe its because it feels quite luxurious sitting on perfectly landscaped lawns nestled under 300 year old pomegranate trees, sipping a cocktail with smartly dressed waiters running around.
Oh god, not another beautiful day in Africa!
The Pizza menu consists of two margarita’s. The first one is R30 and the second one is R9o and made with Buffalo Ridge mozzarella. You then choose from a selection of toppings. If you opt for the Buffalo mozzarella as your starting point, your pizza could get a little pricey.
The Roundhouse Rumbullion is also open for breakfast Friday – Sunday: 9-11 am, and lunch on Tuesday – Sunday: 12 – 3pm.
And for pizza and drinks throughout the week: 3 – 8pm.
It’s an ideal place to take out of town visitors to brag about how beautiful our home town is.
