This years Sauvignon blanc walk-around tasting as part of the Constantia Fresh Wine Event was just as enjoyable as last year. Maybe even more so. Not only do I love Sauvignon Blanc, but sipping some of South Africa’s best whilst wandering around the beautiful lawns of Buitenverwachting on a summers day is a perfect day out.
There were delicious canapes made by a handful of top chefs that kept flowing during the afternoon.
“It’s is important that people realise that there are dimensions to Sauvignon Blanc other than those tinned asparagus and green pepper components. It’s considered a noble grape variety and the top Sauvignon Blanc wines of South Africa can measure themselves against the rest of the world.”
Sommelier Jörg Pfützner of Fine Wine Events
Bumping into friends, live music and a braai hosted by Buitenverwachting and High Constantia Gourmet Deli.
Check out Mike from ‘Still Frame My Life’ video from the day, it really sums up the vibe of the event so perfectly and you may even recognise a few familiar faces.
This is a not to be missed event in my social calendar.
