market day

The Neighbourgoods Market at the Old Biscuit Mill in Cape Town is probably the best food market in the country, and Market Day issue 1 is a beautifully curated journal of part of this vibrant foodie space. Conceptualised and produced by the highly talented food media guru Russel Wasserfall, its a feast from beginging to end.
I was honoured to be invited to contribute a story, well the photography part of the story, of The Creamery. I shot images of their stunning cafe in Newlands, their stand at the market and three delicious ice cream recipes – which appear in the journal, in my studio. I also developed and styled three recipes for the Charcuterie.
This is a peek into what the publication looks like, so pick up your copy when you are next at the market (only R150) and selected book sellers.
Here are a few mor eof my pics of the Creamery.
The beautiful Instagram images are shot by Kosie Jansen Van Rensburg – check out his exquisite Instagram gallery.
Gorgeous photos! Any chance the book will be available in the States?
That looks like a fun shoot! Beautiful photos!!!
OK this post was beautiful, but living across the globe i probably wont be by to pick-up a copy of Market Day…..please make a suggestion on how we poor folks in the US can share the publication…..
Hi! Thanks for the awesome post regarding the Food Market.
Do they only sell food or are there also other things to see?
I do glass work (mainly fused glass) and pewter. Where in Cape Town do you think there will be a really good market to sell my hobbies? Even up country. Say once or twice a month.
I am looking forward to your feedback.
Kind regards.

Hi Lynne – they also sell other things – clothes, ceramics etc so give them, a try. There are so many markets all over the show.
