cappuccino à la rose
I received my new Nespresso machine last week and its been a while since I was this excited about an appliance. The possibilities are endless and include tea. The recipes are thus endless and for me to have such high-quality coffee at the touch of a button, I am thrilled.
This is a recipe I fell in love with on their amazing coffee creations website and its called the Cappuccino à la rose. It has white chocolate and rosewater included – I mean how dreamy. If you want to get really fancy you can crystalise a few rose petals and sprinkle these on top.
I made a little video on how to make it:
Recipe – makes 1 cappuccino
- 1 capsule of Nespresso Dulsão do Brasil Grand Cru
- 1 – 2 blocks of white chocolate
- 80ml semi skimmed or skimmed milk – frothed
- 2 tsp rose water
Heat the cappuccino cup
Place a piece of the white chooclate in the cup
Prepare the capsule of Dulsão do Brasil Grand Cru your in Nespresso (40 ml / 15 oz) and pour it on the chocolate
Add the rosewater to the milk
Prepare the flavoured milk froth using the steam nozzle of your Nespresso machine or the Aeroccino milk frother and pour the froth and the milk into the cup
Stir and enjoy.
Maybe it is OK if you turn it into something other than just coffee. Personally I find the ‘coffee’ these machines produce to be a) not hot enough b) slimy feeling in the mouth. Admittedly I drink my coffee strong and black, but certainly would not recommend them for anyone with a similar taste in coffee. And that is before we even get on to the pod recycling issue and the sheer cost of buying coffee this way!
We are planning a new nespresso machine what is the name of the one you used?
I got the Citizand Milk and love it. the frother is virtualy silent and makes wonderful foam in seconds
Hi Sam, Please let everyone know that Nespresso also offers recycling bags for the coffee capsules so that they stay out of the rubbish bins. Love the chocolate addition.
Thanks Mary – indeed they do. and they collect at the stores too.
Hi Pete – thanks for your feedback and I know coffee is a matter of taste. Nespresso has So many options. They do recommend heating the cup first. In terms of recycling they offer bags at their stores which can be filled and returned and which get recyled.
