A plate of the best Air Fryer roasted green beans with nutritional yeast and Parmesan

This recipe for green beans roasted in an Air Fryer is the best I know. I can eat a whole batch on my own. They are umami flavour bombs with nutritional yeast and Parmesan added and everyone will love them.

My friend Nicole from Terra Madre has created a range of seasonings in beautiful tins. The first is her Greek seasoning which is a 50-year-old family recipe. Her father Chris was a butcher in Joburg and created this recipe for cooking lamb in the spit. Nicole now makes it with dried oregano from Greece (the best), Atlantic sea salt and various other spices. There are no preservatives, stabilizers or additives in this product. It’s all-natural and I use it on meat, chicken, fish, legumes and vegetables. It’s my main seasoning salt for vegetables.

The tin is so beautiful and makes a lovely gift. It comes in 2 sizes and the small one is adequate as a little goes a long way.

You can order it online but it is also available in numerous stores in Cape Town including Spar Sea Point, Constantia (Alphen) & Hout Bay, Delicious Fish Deli Sea Point, Giovanni’s, The Olive Branch Deli, Willoughby & Co in the V&A and many more locations. Nicole also sells her cold pressed, single cultivar apple & pear juices to many of these stores too and the Oranjezicht Market.

I love my Air Fryer and have the Instant Vortex Plus Air Fryer with ClearCook & OdourErase.

This is an upgrade from a previous Instant Vortex model which I also loved but this is on another level.

More about it if you are in the market for a new Air Fryer:

The 6-in-1 Instant™ Vortex™ Plus with ClearCook and OdourErase technology is our most advanced and beautifully designed air fryer yet! This model is also the first air fryer with odour removal technology and a ClearCook window to monitor cooking progress with the touch of a button. The stainless steel finish, cooking progress indicator and reduced noise levels round off this next-generation air fryer. Available sizes: 5.7L

Recipe – The Best Air Fryer roasted green beans

Just a note on the best way to stem green beans if you are blanching them. ONLY cut off the stem end. If you cut off both ends, water will run through the bean like a straw depleting it of its nutrients and breaking it apart more. If you need to cut them smaller it is better to do it after they have been cooked (in water).
