The Viral Cucumber Salad Recipe

Ingredients
- 1 Mediterranean cucumber or ½ English cucumber approx. 200g
- ½ tsp sugar
- ½ tsp MSG optional, but worth it
- ¾ – 1 tsp sesame oil
- ½-3/4 tsp chilli crunch adjust to taste
- ¾ tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp fish sauce
- 2 tsp furikake
- 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
- 1 small grated garlic clove optional
Instructions
- Slice the cucumber on a mandolin and add to a container with a lid. Add all the remaining ingredients. Seal and shake well to combine. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
- Serve immediately or chill before eating.
Notes
- Fridge: Store in a sealed container for up to 24 hours. The texture softens slightly over time, but the flavour holds.
- Avoid freezing – Cucumbers lose their crunch completely when thawed.
