M 12 best ice cream recipes

Cape Town is in the midst of an excruciating week-long heatwave and all I can think about is ice-cream. I can’t face turning on my oven on or standing in front of a hot stove, so I’m taking this time to catch up on all my admin and plan future projects. When its a bazillion degrees outside my mind wonders to ice cream, so I’ve rounded up my 12 favourite recipes on Drizzleanddip. Stay cool friends.

Ginger miso ice cream (vegan)

One of my recipes I’m most proud of because all the flavours work so well together. It also happens to be vegan and I loved it so much I included it my second cookbook ‘Sweet’.

I’m a big fan of refreshing fruit sorbets and even more of a fan of adding a splash of booze to them.

Coffee tequila ice cream with smashed malted chocolates

Because coffee tequila is so damned delicious who wouldn’t want to put it in an ice cream. The smashed up Malteser chocolates just take it to the next level adding amazing crunch.

Crimson grape sorbet

When the delicious crimson grapes are in season this is the first thing I want to make with them. Once again it has a good dose of red wine to amplify all the grape-ey-ness. You will love this I promise.

Passion fruit meringue ice cream

I used my own home made granadilla curd and meringues so this is a little bit of extra work but so worth it.

Raspberry & limoncello ice cream

Raspberries & lemon are perfect flavour partners and this recipe is grown up and very delicious.

Blueberry ice cream with maple & cinnamon

An unusual and very delicious flavour combination.

Rooibos & honey ice cream

The earthy flavour of Rooibos tea is infused into this creamy ice cream with a hint of honey to create another layer of depth.

Millionaires shortbread ice cream

Shortbread biscuits with caramel and chocolate are involved so need I say more?

Coconut & lime ice cream (vegan)

This is the most delicious and creamy ice cream that given that it is made out of coconut milk (a fruit) it should probably be called a sorbet. Technically speaking anyway. I love that it is also vegan.

Granadilla (passionfruit) sorbet

I’m adding this in as an extra recipe at the end even though the picture is too ghastly to include here. The sorbet is right up there amongst my favourite of all time and should remind any South African of a day at the beach where granadilla lollies are sold.
