Stout hot cross bun bread & bun recipe

Easter falls in my favourite season of the year, and I love all the food that goes with it. We transition out of summer into cooler days with beautiful light and auburn colours everywhere. Whether you’re planning a long lunch with family, a relaxed brunch on Good Friday, or just want an excuse to bake something special, this is my go-to collection of Easter recipes. From starters and mains to hot cross bun baking and chocolate desserts, I’ve rounded up everything you need.

Easter Baking

Stout hot cross buns. These are way easier to make than you might think and so much better than anything you will find in a shop. The stout adds a malty depth, and the dough is soft and pillowy. This is one of my all-time favourite recipes on the blog and has been baked by so many readers over the years.

  1. Your blog and recipes are fantastic always. It would be so kind and helpful to your readers if you would please post a print button on your recipes for ease of mind and use. Also both ingredient measurements . Maybe weight and grams.

  2. Hi Pat, many of the recipes are on a printable cards especially the very latest ones. I had a few technical problems with the plugin so it wasnt always possible to do this. You can always copy and paste it into a blank word document (takes seconds) and then print that. As for the weight and measureemtns I do the best I can here and they are as they are. All this is freely available to you at no cost so Im sorry if it doesnt suit you. Best Sam
